Blue mushroom belongs to kingdom FUNGI and division Basidiomycota. Scientific name is Lactarius indigo also called as indigo milk cap.This normally found in North America, East Asia and Central America. This mushroom grows in Coniferous and Deciduous forests.
Chemical composition of this mushroom is moisture at 951 mg/g , fat, protein and fiber. Fruit body color changes from dark blue color to pale blue grey in old ones. Its cap has diameter of 5cm - 15 cm and stem is 2cm - 8 cm.This is an edible mushroom and mostly sell in rural markets in China and Mexico.
